Early Golden Eagle favourite I'm Thunderstruck will jump from barrier 10 in Saturday's $7.5 million dollar feature from Rosehill Gardens.

The son of Shocking makes his first interstate trip and arrives off victory in the Toorak Handicap on October 9 at Caulfield.

Private Eye (barrier 17) is another last start Group 1 winner, with the Joe Pride-trained gelding taking out the Epsom Handicap on October 2.

Kolding won the inaugural Golden Eagle in 2019 off the same winning pattern.

Maximal (barrier 22) is an interesting galloper, a three-quarter brother to Frankel who featured over Royal Ascot 2021 prior to a second behind Baaeed, one of the best three-year-old's in Europe who is unbeaten from six starts.

Count De Rupee (barrier four) was luckless in third via a messy running of The Silver Eagle, which is is one of the key lead-up event,

The Golden Eagle is a set weights race restricted to four-year-old's and is run at Rosehill Gardens over 1500m.
