Bairnsdale Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 2 Raven’s Silver

The five-year-old recorded some good efforts last prep including when breaking through for his first victory on his return to action at Seymour at the end of May.

The Crackerjack King gelding raced over 1000m on a heavy 8 surface on that occasion and he went on to finish a good second stepped up to 1200m at the same venue at the start of July.

Tony Noonan’s representative went on to place second on his return to Seymour three starts later and he was spelled following a last place finish upped to 1700m at Warnambool in September.

The selection returned lame in his left hind leg following that Warrnambool effort and he showed up well when saluting in a jumpout at Caulfield on his most recent public appearance.

The gelding is reunited with Dakotah Keane, on board for all three previously mentioned Seymour efforts here with the distance and underfoot conditions both in the pick’s favour.

Bairnsdale Value Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Elly Dee

The daughter of Frosted has made just five appearances since finishing runner-up over 1200m on a wet track at Moe in August 2023.

However, four of those efforts have come this prep winning twice over 1008m at Woolamai including by three lengths on a firm track at the start of this month.

The six-year-old had been beaten less than half-a-length into second when racing over 1200m at Healesville prior to that with both of those efforts coming in Trophy events.

The pick tackles a much tougher contest here however she has a good jockey in Paul Gatt up with the return to 1200m no issue.

Trained by Troy Kilgower the mare is set to jump from a wide barrier however with the switch to a wet track no issue having shown good form on soft going in 2023.

The selection steps up in grade for this contest and she looks value to continue her good run of form with a win.

GBM Contractors Lindenow Cup BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Bairnsdale Best Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Gift Of Oratory

Trained by Ben, JD & Will Hayes the gelding broke through for his second career win when successful by half-a-length in a Benchmark 0-58 handicap at Yarra Glen.

The five-year-old raced from the front over 1950m when racing on a good 4 track that day and with the second and fourth home both going on to register victories next time.

The selection himself had been beaten just under half-a-length when runner-up in a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1968m at the same venue prior.

The son of Churchill is set to jump from a double figure barrier in this contest and arrives here on the back of a fourth in an 800m jumpout at Pakenham recently.

Koby Jennings, on board for both of the gelding’s Yara Glenn effort is again set to ride with his mount looking the main pace angle in this contest.

The wet track shouldn’t pose an issue having finished fourth on a soft surface at Moe in August Last year and jumping from barrier thirteen he looks up to scoring here.

Bairnsdale Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Verdad

The four-year-old recorded a run of five consecutive second place finishes last prep including when half-a-length second over 1800m when contesting a Benchmark 90 handicap at Flemington.

The pick was given a break following that effort in November resuming with a good two length third dropped to 1400m for a Benchmark 84 handicap back at Flemington in January.

The son of Justify could finish only seventh over 1600m when competing at Benchmark 84 level at Flemington on his second start this prep.

The selection was beaten just over five lengths when racing on a soft 5 track that day and he returned to form with a win in a similar contest at Flemington at the start of this month.

Luke Currie rides for the first time with his mount set to encounter a wet surface for just the second time in his career.

A wide barrier shouldn’t pose too many issues given the pick has shown good early speed in the past and he is taken to complete a double.
