Archer Park Racing Blue & White Stars Class 4 Plate Tips (Race 3)
Gold Coast Best Bet - Race 3 No. 1 Caspernova
The four-year-old ticks plenty of boxes here including having shown a liking for this distance with seven top two finishes from as many starts over 1200m.
Those top three finishes included three wins this prep including when beaten just under half-a-length on a sound surface in a Benchmark 0-65 handicap at Doomben in January.
The son of Spirit Of Boom went on to come home nearly one-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals when contesting a Benchmark 70 handicap at Eagle Farm last month.
Trained by Robert Heathcote the gelding won on a soft 6 track that day while he has also won on heavy going having triumphed on a heavy 8 at Ipswich in July last year.
The gelding has shown good progress in his races this prep and remains open to improvement having won half of his eight previous outings.
The pick usually shows good early speed and with that in mind barrier fifteen shouldn’t pose too many issues for Vlad Duric’s mount.

Gold Coast Value Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Tectonic Plate
Daniel Bowen’s mare has demonstrated a liking for testing conditions in the past winning once and placing second once from her two starts on the forecast heavy going.
The victory saw her come home over one-and-a-half-lengths clear of her rivals when taking out a Benchmark 82 handicap over 1260m at Ballina in June last year.
The selection went on to complete a double when racing over 1200m on a sound surface at Eagle Farm the following month and she has finished in the first four in all five subsequent outings.
Those efforts include a good second when beaten less than half-a-length over 1000m here having missed the break on her penultimate start.
The pick arrives here on the back of a third place finished stepped up to 1200m at Doomben and back racing on a wet track and dropping in distance she looks value to register a win.

Gold Coast Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Grafterburners
The youngster broke through for his first win when coming home two lengths clear of his rivals in an 1100m contest held on a soft 7 surface at Ipswich in December.
The pick was making his second start that day having previously placed third in similar conditions over 1000m at this venue.
The son of Graff shaped as if he was still in need of the experience when placing second stepped up to 1200m for the first time when runner-up at Eagle Farm in December.
The selection was freshened following that effort and returned to action with a good fourth, beaten less than two lengths in the Inglis Millennium over 1100m at Randwick last month.
The gelding caught the eye in finishing strongly that day and the step back up in distance is in his favour.
Kelly Schweida’s representative is expected to be ridden cold and with that in mind a wide barrier shouldn’t pose too many issues.

Gold Coast Feature Bet - Race 7 No. 9 Hearts Are Better
The daughter of Better Than Ready has won twice since debuting with a second over 1000m when racing on a soft 7 track at Eagle Farm in May last year.
The pick was spelled following that effort and she impressed when resuming with a short-price victory in an 800m maiden at Warwick in November.
The filly raced on a wet track that day and while she failed to shine when seventh here next time she return to winning ways over 800m at Ipswich subsequently.
The selection won by over half-a-length when jumping at $1.50 for a Benchmark 65 handicap held on a good 4 track that day and she shaped as if further would suit at Doomben last time.
That Doomben effort saw her beaten just under one-and-a-half-lengths when racing off a low weight in an 1110m quality event and she has a decent barrier in seven here.
Matthew Hoysted’s filly is expected to appreciate the heavy going forecast and she is taken to deliver a victory under Nikita Beriman.
