Racing over 1512m in a Benchmark 64 handicap the pick came home one-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals when racing in a small field that day.
The son of Toronado was freshened following that effort and he crossed the border to finish a good third, beaten less than half-a-length in a similar race to this over course and distance.
Both of those efforts came on a good 4 track including when finishing strongly here two weeks ago and he boasts a good barrier next to the rail.
The booking of recent Cup winning hoop Rochelle Milnes takes the eye and her mount is taken to record a win in the opener.

Peter Hardacre’s filly debuted with a respectable seventh when contesting an eleven runner 1050m maiden at Oakbank on debut just over a month ago.
The pick was beaten just over four-and-a-half-lengths that day and was the subject of market support when jumping at $2.50 for a 1300m maiden at Penola subsequently.
Ultimately the filly was denied by a strong finishing rival, going down by less than half-a-length when racing on a good 4 track that day.
The daughter of Strasbourg raced from behind the speed that day having got away well and similar tactics are expected in this contest.
Kayla Crowther rode for the first time that day and she retains the ride here with her mount boasting a good barrier three from the rail.
While the selection is set to race at metro level for the first time here she remains open to improvement and may prove capable of surprising some better fancied rivals.
Croser Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Morphettville Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Dubai Focus
The three-year-old failed to shine in two starts last season however he demonstrated improvement in two starts last prep.
The pick resumed with a good second over 1100m when contesting a maiden at Gawler in October and duly went one better when jumping at $1.60 at the same venue later that month.
The son of Pride Of Dubai raced over 1500m for the first time that day coming home over two-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals having jumped from barrier eight.
The gelding was spelled following that effort and returned from a break with an impressive two-and-a-half-length success in a Benchmark 72 handicap over this course and distance two weeks ago.
The runner-up that day went on to place second in the Guineas here on Cup Day and the gelding has the distance and underfoot conditions to suit.
The selection hails from the in form Aaron Bain & Ned Taylor stable who have won with five of their last seven runners.
SkyCity Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Morphettville Value Bet - Race 9 No. 2 Williamstown
The son of Dissident has shown up well over this distance in the past with both previous victories coming over this trip.
The most recent of those saw the gelding get home by just under a length when contesting a Class 1 handicap at Moonee Valley at the end of January.
The selection registered a comfortable success when racing on a good 3 track that day with the runner-up going on to boost the form with a win at Sandown next time.
Rob Blacker’s representative went on to deliver a solid third place finish having raced from off the pace when contesting a Benchmark 0-64 handicap over this course and distance at the start of this month.
The five-year-old has forecast underfoot conditions to suit and he is expected to be ridden with restraint by Rochelle Milnes jumping from a wide barrier in this event.
