Pakenham Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 2 Bohemian Angel
A $300,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale back in 2023 the filly demonstrated improvement in her second jumpout at this venue.
The pick came home in front over 800m that day having finished seventh in a similar contest seven days earlier.
The chestnut made her debut over 1000m at Bendigo at the start of this month racing from mid-division and being held up near the turn prior to placing second over 1000m.
The daughter of Harry Angel raced on a good 4 track going down by half-a-length to a fellow debutant with her jockey here Linda Meech in the saddle that day.
The form of that contest received a boost recently with the sixth home delivering a victory at Kilmore last week.
The selection is expected to have improved for that debut experience and she looks capable of breaking her maiden for the Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman team.

Pakenham Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Big Swinger
The son of Trapeze Artist demonstrated plenty of ability in his three starts last prep including in winning twice.
The three-year-old broke through for his first victory when winning by one-and-a-half-lengths over 1200m at Ballarat in September.
The gelding raced on a wet track that day and duly followed up on his first start on good going when successful by nearly four lengths over the same course and distance the following month.
The selection jumped as a short-priced favourite when contesting a Class 1 handicap that day and he earned a step up to Listed company for his next start.
While unable to maintain his unbeaten record the youngster delivered a highly creditable effort in finishing two lengths fifth in The Amanda Elliott over 1400m on Cup Day.
Charlotte Littlefield’s gelding prepped for this with a jumpout win over 1000m here earlier this month and tackling more experienced rivals he looks up to returning to winning ways.

Pakenham Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Pray Day
The four-year-old got off the mark at the fifth attempt when coming home two lengths clear of his rivals in a 1600m maiden at Swan Hill at the start of August.
The gelding went on to deliver a couple of good efforts in defeat against winners including when losing out by less than a length in a 1717m event at Sale later that month.
The selection contested a Benchmark 64 handicap held on a soft 6 surface and a change of tactics saw him race on the pace prior to finishing fourth at the same venue next time.
That latest effort saw Nick Ryan’s representative beaten just under three lengths in a Benchmark 0-62 handicap with the gelding spelled subsequently.
The pick ran well on debut when making his first start last prep and he should be ready to go with his jockey from Swan Hill Declan Bates up following a couple of efforts in Flemington jumpout’s.
Lely BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Pakenham Roughie - Race 8 No. 6 Cinque Ponte
Tony Noonan’s filly broke through for her first victory when taking out a 1412m maiden contest held on a good 4 track at Echuca in August.
The pick was spelled following that $19 triumph and she has delivered a couple of solid efforts in finishing sixth here in both appearances this prep.
The first of those saw her beaten just over two-and-a-half-lengths dropped to 1200m for a Class 1 handicap event while she filled the same position stepped up to 1400m last time.
The daughter of Toronado kept on nicely having raced from off the pace to be beaten just two lengths in a Benchmark 58 handicap on that occasion.
The form of that effort is working out well with the second, fourth and eighth all winning subsequently.
The extra distance is expected to suit here while given her hold-up racing style a wide barrier shouldn’t pose too many issues.
