Sandown Tips March 19
Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Sandown Best Bet - Race 5 No. 5 Zloties
This Grahame Begg-trained mare is suited up to 1300m after a solid 1200m return, where she ran the second-fastest last 200m of the February 19 card and Merrigold (runner-up) has franked the form.
After taking out a BM64 at Moonee Valley, Merrigold made it back-to-back triumphs eight days later in the VOBIS Gold Distaff at Caulfield (a last start Listed winner ran third in that race).
Her last prep Sandown form through Zaszou also makes for very good reading, with that galloper beating a subsequent Listed winner in Elphinstone via her next appearance.

Sandown Roughie - Race 6 No. 6 Signor Bill
From the same family as champion galloper Tie The Knot is Signor Bill, a galloper who showed ability throughout his first campaign, which culminated with a second behind Snack Bar.
The early season form around Snack Bar was strong, with that Godolphin three-year-old placing behind both Autumn Glow and Lady Shenandoah prior to a fifth in the Listed Tapp-Craig at Rosehill.
Signor Bill was spelled after two January outings and the first of those at metro level was effectively a trial, while the son of Saxon Warrior moved well in a recent jump-out at Bendigo.

Sandown Value Bet - Race 7 No. 16 Oxford Blue
His lead-up work suggested that he would improve off whatever was delivered first-up and that Sandown Hillside resumption was a good one, with Oxford Blue placing over 1500m.
He hit a flat spot at a key stage before getting warm late (fastest last 200m of the race) and the rise to 1800m is ideal for Oxford Blue (second-up winner over 1740m in his first campaign).
The Victoria Derby came too soon at the end of his first prep, with EIPH also detected after that Group 1 tilt and he arrived there off a third in the Geelong Classic, where he was a well-backed fav.

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 6 Carnival Row
This honest campaigner from the McEvoy stable has completed a jump-out since his solid return here over 1400m on February 26 and he's now suited up to a mile second-up.
Carnival Row has won his last two second-up outings, with the latest coming over this trip and at 1500m, he defeated a handy Dashing Duchess (now a six-time winner) when breaking his maiden.
From gate four in a bigger field, Carnival Row can settle closer on Wednesday and with improvement to come, along with a few more favours off the map, he's right in this at an each-way price.
