Ascot Roughie Tip
Race 5 No. 8 Supportive
She's an honest mare with a decent overall record at 1200m and Supportive gets right down in the weights third-up off two good summer efforts.
Race fitness told vs a hard-fit winner when runner-up via a fast-run event fresh at Bunbury and she was also giving 3kg to that February 16 winner.
Supportive then recorded a third when contesting a 60+ over this track/trip on March 1 in a race taken out by Hang Glider ($6 chance in this).
There's enough knocks on the market elects, with the two favs unproven at this distance and Silver Eye (third fav) finished last via his return outing.
Caulfield Roughie Tip
Race 5 No. 12 Miss Playlounge
She's still a work in progress, but the Clinton McDonald-trained filly clearly has ability and blinkers go on for what is a suitable rise in trip second-up.
The daughter of Shamus Award was good on return over 1300m at Sandown despite going down as fav and she arrived there off nice lead-up work.
Miss Playlounge could've used blinkers after looming into her third outing before a spell and Too Darn Discreet (winner) won her next two at Group level.
Oxford Blue was also produced from that September 18 event, with that galloper bolting in next start before a third as a short fav in the Geelong Classic.
Gold Coast Roughie Tip
Race 5 No. 4 Tectonic Plate
You rarely see a bad run from her and after building a tidy record on the country circuit, she easily accounted for Legal Esprit in her metro debut.
Legal Esprit arrived there fresh after winning the Gold Jewel last March and that galloper also defeated a handy Golden Boom prior to that.
Tectonic Plate hasn't saluted since that July 20 triumph, but she's been consistent, with four placings and a fourth-place finish from five subsequent runs.
She caught the eye two back at the Gold Coast when making ground vs the race pattern and on Saturday, she's well placed against her own sex.
Morphettville Roughie Tip
Race 4 No. 3 Top Of The Ridge
He showed enough in three runs over his first campaign and while Top Of The Ridge draws out here, he's likely to roll forward and look for the lead.
His debut effort was brave, where the four-year-old sat three-wide and working on the speed at Gawler, while the trifecta all had much softer runs.
The son of Rich Enuff followed that up with a second over 1100m at Murray Bridge and held a safe margin on the rest as the pick of the on-speed brigade.
Top Of The Ridge was last seen on January 4, with the winner of that a subsequent Class 2 victor and he beat home Novela, who heads this market.
Rosehill Roughie Tip
Race 9 No. 10 Von Hauke
In one of the more competitive races on Saturday's Coolmore Classic program, Von Hauke makes some each-way appeal at a huge price.
He was a Group 3 winner second-up last autumn and that form through Amenable reads well, with that runner Group 1 placed only two starts later.
His Moonee Valley return was sound (second-fastest last 200m of the race) and he was competitive in the Doncaster Prelude via his only Rosehill try.
Another Wil took out that event, a Group 1 winner who is a few rungs above anything here and Von Hauke gets weight off the class runners of this field.
