Rublev secured a confidence-boosting title in Doha last week with three big victories to close out the tournament over Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jack Draper and the Russian is backed to cover a -3.5 games line in victory to launch his title pursuit in Doha. Halys simply isn't on Rublev's level, with the Frenchman possessing a 0-10 record against top 10 players throughout his career. Rublev won their only previous meeting covering a -3.5 games handicap and he's expected to produce a similar display in Dubai.

Rublev leads 1-0, prevailing 6-4 7-5 in the second round of the Shanghai Masters in 2023.

As mentioned, Rublev enjoyed one of his best weeks on tour over the last 12 months last week in Doha and he will be hoping to keep the good times rolling in Dubai.

It's been a challenging last year or so for Rublev, but after saving a match point against de Minaur in the Doha quarter-finals, he edged out both Auger-Aliassime and Draper in three-set battles to emerge with the silverware.

Halys appears to have put those niggling injury concerns behind him, qualifying for the main draw in Doha last week and pushing eventual semi-finalist Auger-Aliassime to three sets in the opening round.

Currently ranked No. 77 in the world, the Frenchman also qualified in Dubai over the weekend with straight sets wins over Yasutaka Uchiyama and Pavel Kotov, but now he must overturn a daunting 0-10 record against top 10 players to continue his run.
